A labor shortage and surplus of air cargo, together with weather conditions has resulted in serious operational delays at BORISPOL AIRPORT, UKRAINE.

Airport warehouses are completely flooded with freight and there is no remaining space available to sort cargo. Hundreds of import ULDs remain untouched after arrival and flights out of the airport have left empty or with minimal loaded cargo. Waiting times for some special cargo services have reached up to 16 hours and, in some cases, carriers are not operating at the airport. The tremendous backlog is anticipated to affect bookings through the rest of the year.

In order to clear current CARGO and MAIL backlog the BORISPOL AIRPORT (KBP) placed a temporary embargo for all CARGO and MAIL import operation for all type of aircraft PAX and CARGO for period 23:00UTC, 23DEC2018 – 23:00UTC, 03JAN2019
